About the Welsh Pilgrimage

The First Welsh National Pilgrimage to Lourdes left Wales in 1961, although many Welsh Pilgrims had gone to the Shrine for many years previously. Since then, there have been many changes but all with the same intention of allowing as many sick and disabled pilgrims as possible to experience something of the Spirit of Lourdes. Many different groups come together to make up our pilgrimage today.

The Lourdes Hospitalite Cymru, together with our Healthcare Staff , are responsible for the day to day care of our sick pilgrims, ably assisted by the large contingent of The Welsh Youth to Lourdes Groups drawn from the Dioceses of Cardiff and Menevia. Our Youth bring their energy and enthusiasm to be of great assistance to all. We are aso joined by other individuals and affiliated parish groups to contribute to our unity as the People of God on our Pilgrim Way.
